A Rose & a Smile.

Another painting 'A Rose & a Smile' for you lovely people. Once again I produced this painting to experiment and develop my use of colour, light and dark etc etc. I shan't babble on too much here. I've been sketching a lot of random little pictures in my sketchbook that I carry around everywhere, and some I've taken further by scanning in and adding colour, like this one for example. I can't stress enough how important it is to take even a tiny weeny little sketch/note book out with you. Personally I can't produce a masterpiece on the move, but I find some of my best ideas pop up from nowhere when I least expect it, and I simply HAVE to get it written down/make a quick doodle. Even if I don't take the idea any further right away, it's there, and you never know what the future holds :)

New characters and Stuff

So I was meant to post three paintings today, but am STILL working on the third, so I thought I'd throw the first one up here to prove I've actually been working on what I SAY I've been working on. I'm really trying to push my digital painting skills, and sense of background. The image of the boy in the bedroom was a spur of the moment idea to have a play with light and dark, composition and have a bit of fun really. I wanted to use a limited colour palette and keep to the no-line style to make it kidbook-friendly. Hope you like. Feel free to leave comments and stuff. Or just have a cup of tea. The Forgotten Street

I completely forgot about this digital painting I did a while back. It's been a while since I posted anything, so thought I'd put up the forgotten street. It has been waiting so very patiently. (Click to enlarge)
