A bit of Fairytale and perspective

I wanted to create an image based on a well known fairytale (can you guess which one this might be??....) but approach it from a unusual angle, literally. I feel that composition makes such a huge difference in an image, so I'm hoping that the perspective I've used has created that dramatic edge I wanted to achieve.
(I hope...)
I'm pretty sure, whatever I just said made hardly any sense, but it did in my head, so enjoy, farewell and have a good day.

A little illustration

I felt it was time for another little character update on here. Been a while. Now for a cup of tea :)

A Necklace of Raindrops: Round Two!

So, you MAY or may not have seen this illustration before... Ah but it IS different?? If you do happen to remember the older version of the illustration, it involves line work and looks a little less 'picture booky' (excuse my non-professional language) than the newer edition.
I decided, since I am taking on board this new painterly style, I'd go back and re-jig a few of my existing pieces of work. I feel, particularly for this piece, that the style is working really well, and definitely adds a little drama to my work that wasn't necessarily there before! Anyway, enough babbling, do let me know what you think of this new approach! Cheers! :)

This was a bit of an experiment with scenery and water. Scenery is not my strong point, so I need all the practice I can get! My main aim is to create atmosphere and mood, whilst taking into consideration composition and lighting.

Once again, I wanted to practice my digital painting skills whilst experimenting with characterisation, colour & composition. I feel this particular piece went rather well. It was a spur of the moment drawing really... I wanted to create something quite sweet and comforting. I find hugging always achieves this :)
Digital painting is so therapeutic, I can spend hours just refining an image more and more until I feel it's acceptable for the eyes of the public! (Perfectionism is something every illustrator suffers with I think...) and I like to think I can try to make an image look as if it has been hand-rendered... (sneaky stuff eh!)

The Green Lady

I'm not sure why I created this particular character/scene, but all I know is, I really really like working with the colour green. This is another one to add to the batch of new illustrations I'm creating for my new online portfolio. Many more to come...

The Magic Pawprint

I'll let you wonder at what's going on here. I think the dog is a little shocked by it all.
